Sociology is sad to announce that Dr. Francesca Guerra, a continuing lecturer in the department, passed away on May 23 following a serious illness.
Dr. Guerra did not want a memorial service or any donations sent in the form of cards or flowers, and the family would like to respect these wishes. Instead, the department will plan to honor Dr. Guerra’s numerous contributions to Sociology by establishing a scholarship for undergraduates in her name.
Until then, we hope you will join us in keeping her family in your thoughts at this difficult time, and in remembering Dr. Guerra's fierce and tireless dedication to sociology, to teaching and, above all, to her students.
