Hawthorne published in book review, co-edits special issue in “Black Italia”

Associate Professor Camilla Hawthorne was published in the AAG Review of Books for her co-edited volume, The Black Geographic. The book forum features an introduction from Hawthorne and her co-editor, Jovan Scott Lewis of UC Berkeley, plus commentaries by UC Santa Cruz graduate students. Hawthorne recently co-edited the special issue “Black Italia” for California Italian Studies.

Additionally, she co-published the posthumous M.A. thesis of sociology graduate student kirsten mai castle in Gender, Place & Culture, titled “Visitation: Policing the bodies of free women on the peripheries of the prison.”
